Summary: David Hollander loves vintage cars. He learned from his dad, rebuilding engines with him on weekends.
Shane had so many tournaments and weekend games that the vintage car he’d wanted to restore with Shane went by the wayside.
Shane suffers an injury that takes him out for the latter half of the season.
He decides to spend the time restoring the car with his dad.
They rent a bay at a local garage.
The owner is so thrilled that the hometown hockey hero is here that he asks his head mechanic to help them out.
Shane is completely moonstruck by the gorgeous man in a white tank top and low slung work pants.
They bond and get to know each other over the months of restoring the car.
I mean, they’re probably hooking up when David heads home for the day. Maybe Ilya’s apartment is next door or above the garage.
The doctors clear Shane to start the next season after the break.
He is loathe to leave Ilya but hockey calls. It would be insane to use his unrestricted free agency to go to the Ottawa Centaurs to be close to Ilya.
But love can make you a little crazy. Like moving to a team that would accepting of your relationship… it’s just one meeting with the new coach.

Summary: In the vaguely futuristic Deep South, a woman used to running a small family operation is left with the care of a deceased neighbor's property, belongings, and somewhat larger business. Her sister, having moved out of the area, hires a fresh-out-of-the-classroom estate manager to catalogue the influx of records and capital as her final act of washing her hands of the matter. No one communicated well about this; Mara did what had to be done, Brynd was willing to take any job to prove themself, even if this doesn't quite match their expectations, and Léthia was unaware of all of it until someone showed up at her door expecting to be fed and housed while getting the "estate" in order.
This is not about any of that. This is about the permeable boundary between insider and outsider and the actions taken on each side to allow someone to cross it, and also about a late-night excursion on a little old boat.

Summary: And there you have it, Scotty. Laura Hale. 32. Cut in half. Jesus. I almost didn't believe it when Finstock lovingly chucked the case straight at my head. Talk about trial by fire, right? Small town probably so tight-knit it borders on inbred, and they give it to the rookie? Well. If Chief I’ll-Yell-At-You-About-The-Fridge-Because-That’s-Just-As-Important-As-The-Serial-Murder-You’re-Working-On Finstock wants to spook me, it’s not gonna work. No-sir-ee. That being said, if I don’t check in every couple of days, assume I’ve been cannibalized, sacrificed to a local deity, or am being hunted for sport.
Or:
FBI Agent Stiles Stilinski is sent to help Beacon Hills solve the gruesome murder of Laura Hale. His newest partner? The deceased's brother.

Summary: You want niche obsessions, you say? I'll give you a niche obsession: I have a band which maybe only 5 other people in the world even remember, who never made any official recordings, and who nobody's even heard of since 1987. Intrigued? Thank god, because this has just been living inside me for 20 years and I'm dying to talk to more people about it.
